Mr. Calvin Crawford

Calvin C. Crawford, 81, Overland Par, KS. died Thursday, Sept. l3, 2007 at Manor Care Nursing Home.
Calvin was born July l0, l926 in Gorham, Ks. , later moving to Natoma, where he graduated from High School in l944. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps and was trained as a gunner on B-29;s, He was ready to leave for Japan when the war ended. He received his Bachelor Degree from Bethany College and Master Degree from Fort Hays University. He married Della Brown in l947, and they both taught school for many years. The family, including their daughter, Peggy, moved to Overland Park in l959. Calvin retired in l98l. He was a loyal K.C. Chief Fan, enjoyed traveling and visiting with family. He was a long time member of Valley View Methodist Church, and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.,
Survivors include his wife, grandson, Jeremy Johnson and wife Angela, grandson, Chris Johnson and wife Amee, granddaughter, Ariel Lee, four great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death were his daughter, a brother and sister, and his parent s.
Visitation will be at l:00 p.m. at Valley View United Methodist Church, 8412 W. 95 St. on Monday, Sept. l7, and the Memorial Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Valley View United Methodist Church.
