Carolyn D. Boling, 84, Leawood, Kansas, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2008.
A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, September 13, 2008 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Cross-Lines Community Outreach, 736 Shawnee Ave., Kansas City, Kansas 66105.
Carolyn was born December 13, 1923 in Atlanta, Georgia. She lived in Georgia and Florida before moving to Overland Park, Kansas with her husband and children in 1962. Even after calling the midwest home for over forty years, she remained a southerner at heart. She was a teacher and later worked for the Internal Revenue Service, but spent the majority of her life as a devoted wife and mother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Clara DeLong; sister, Ann Palmer; and husband of 57 years, Thomas Sellers Boling. Survivors include her children, Jan Boling Lonsbury and husband Jim of Lee's Summit, Missouri; Landy Boling and wife Mary Linda of Lake Quivira, Kansas; Susan Boling Ellerbach and husband Richard of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sister Jean Fields of Spartanburg, South Carolina; brother, Roy DeLong of Hamilton, Montana; grandchildren, Kimberly Lonsbury Ervie and husband Aaron of Marceline, Missouri; Justin Lonsbury and wife Leah of Madison, Wisconsin; Emily Boling and husband David Oppenheim of Chicago, Illinois; Tom Boling and wife Kelly of Kansas City, Missouri; Lindsey Ellerbach of Des Moines, Iowa; Mary Ellerbach and Samantha Ellerbach of Tulsa, Oklahoma; great grandchildren, Aiden Lonsbury and Madeline Oppenheim.
