Mrs. Carolyn Knox

July 14, 1930 — October 10, 2015

Carolyn Randolph Knox died peacefully in her sleep October 10, 2015, at Stratford Commons Memory Care in Overland Park. She was 85.

Raised in Amherst, MA, Carolyn attended the University of Massachusetts where she fell in love with Clifford Knox. They married in 1951 and bore one son and three daughters, Randy, Lauri, Lee and Lyn, while moving throughout the East Coast and Midwest as “corporate gypsies” with General Electric. Eventually settling at Lake Quivira, KS, Cliff often credited his career success to the unwavering support of Carolyn, expressing genuine interest in everyone she met, and ever the elegant hostess.  She was a devoted wife, caring mother, grandmother, friend to many, and generous volunteer of her time and talents.

Carolyn is survived by their four children and her two grandsons, Brett and Wade, and has helped with the raising and educating of many other children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Randolph and Evelyn Riley, daughter-in-law Sharon, and in March 2013 by her loving husband Cliff.

The family will hold a private interment at Mount Moriah Cemetery.  A public memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24th, at Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS  66210.
