Carolyn Steele

Carolyn Jean Steele, 87, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2020. A visitation will be held from 5-7:00pm Friday January 17th at the Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave.  Private burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens.   Carolyn was born July 21, 1932 in Springfield, Missouri where she grew up and graduated from High School.  She married James W. Steele on July 1, 1950 and they were married for 36 years.   They moved to Overland Park where they lived and raised their family.    Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, James, in 1986.  She is survived by her three children:  James V. Steele (Debbie), Becky Andrews, and Sara Steele (Wayne Bennett); Brother, David Vaughn; seven grandchildren: James P. Steele, Jason Steele, Jessica Janecka, Tina Delgado, Chris “Topher” Andrews, Ryan Wilks, Nick Koenig; many great-grandchildren, and her beloved dog, Rita.
