Carolyn Sue Witmer, 72, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away at The University of Kansas Medical Center, Wednesday, January 1, 2014.
Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons – Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66210. Family will receive friends at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at the funeral home.
She was born on February 15, 1941 in Rogersville, MO to John & Viola Gossage.
She graduated from Westport High in 1959 and belonged to Sorority of Honor Society, Kappa Epsilon Gamma.
She was a member of The Church of God, 7th Day since 1971.
She retired from Herff Jones as a H R Assistant of 28 years.
She had a love for animals and adopted several Greyhounds from REGAP.
She is survived by her husband H. E. Witmer who were married on January 6, 1961; daughter Denise Moore (Warren); grandchildren, Bradley, Daniel, and Michelle; brother John Gossage (Donna); nephews, John, Mike, Scott, and Christopher.
Carolyn will be remembered by her husband as the sweetest girl he ever met, and a loving wife, a wonderful mother, and an absolute best grandma that anyone could ever ask for. Those of us who knew her were blessed she was in our lives. She will truly be missed.
