Mrs Catherine Butcher

Catherine Butcher, age 84, Prairie Village, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at Brighton Gardens. A celebration of her life will be at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, June 19th at D. W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, Kansas. Burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will be held 3:00 ? 4:00 p.m. Thursday at the chapel preceding the service. She was united in marriage to Raymond Butcher in 1952. Catherine was a loving mother and grandmother. Family was her most precious gift in life. She was always there to lend a helping hand to neighbors and friends, volunteering at her children's schools, the Arthritis Foundation, and the libraries of the Kansas City area. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond; her parents; her sisters, Mary Hatfield and Barbara Young; and her son-in-law, Scott Smith. Catherine is survived by her daughters, Jan (Bob) Arterburn, Karen Smith, Becky (Jeff) Bublitz; grandchildren, Aaron Arterburn; Brooke, Alex, Hayley, & Adam Bublitz; Kortni & Kyle Smith; and her sister, Helen Boris.
