Mrs. Catherine Gray

Catherine Elizabeth Ressen Gray, 95, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2009 at Aberdeen Village. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 3rd at 2:00 P.M. at Aberdeen Village Chapel, 17500 W. 119th St., Olathe, KS 66061. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, the family has established a Good Samaritan Memorial Fund at Aberdeen Village in Olathe, Kansas.
Catherine was born on September 17, 1914 in Le Mars, Iowa, to August and Jennie Ressen. She moved to Rock Island, Illinois, in 1930. Catherine married Raymond Dale Gray on June 30, 1945, in Rock Island, Illinois. They were blessed with three children; Raelyn, Linda Kay, and Suellyn. She was widowed in 1978. In 1985, Catherine moved to Overland Park, Kansas, to live with her daughter, Suellyn, son-in-law, Jeff, and grandsons, Justin and Josh. Catherine was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother; a caring friend and neighbor. She was known for her great apple pies, chocolate chip cookies and was known as “Grandma Kay” by many. Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; daughter, Raelyn; and sisters, Eva and Anna. She is survived by her children, Linda Kay Brouillette and husband, Larry, of Winter Park, Florida, and Suellyn Johnson and husband, Jeff, of Overland Park, Kansas; grandchildren, Justin and Joshua Johnson, James and Matthew Kokoszynski, and Catherine and Mary Brouillette; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Anna, Dominic and Maddyson; and brother, William Ressen.
