Chadna Kelley

Chadna Scott Kelley of Fernandina Beach, Florida went home to be with Jesus and her beloved husband Ross Kelley on Tuesday, 2/22/2022. She was born Chadna Lorraine Scott June 15, 1927 in Newburg, Missouri to Clifford and Edith Scott. Married to Ross in New Jersey May 11, 1946, she was his faithful wife until he passed away 18 years ago this month. Chadna was the loving mother of four children, Karen Chadna Shriver, Wendy Kelley Parnell, Rita Kelley Baker and Clifford Ross Kelley. She considered her in-law children to be as much her own kids as the ones she gave birth to: Bryce Shriver, Mike Parnell, Steve Baker and Patty Kelley. Chadna and Ross always said they weren't really sure exactly how many grandkids they had, because they wouldn't hold still long enough to count them! There are so many grandkids, great grandkids and great great grandkids that they were often referred to as "the multitude". Grandchildren are Michael Parnell, Bryan Shriver, Matthew Kelley, Aaron Baker, Lori Kelley Oswald, Gretchen Turnage, Sterling Kelley and Brandon Shriver. Chadna was known for her kind, loving spirit reflecting her quiet faith in Jesus Christ. She had a quick wit and encouraged us to find joy in our relationships with others. She shared many of her life experiences and insights in her book, “Rain in a Tin Cup”, available on Amazon. Mother was the ultimate matriarch of her large family. She will be missed more than we ever thought possible. We are so blessed to know we will see her again when we join her in heaven one day!  A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at Noon at Johnson County Funeral Chapel.
