Charles "Chuck" I. Lively, 89, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2011 at Delmar Gardens in Lenexa, KS. He was born in Des Arc, AR, October 8, 1921 son of the late Elmer and Pearl (Green) Lively. Chuck was united in marriage in 1946 with the love of his life, Delores (Brown). He was a devoted husband and loving father, grandfather, great- grandfather and "Best My Pal" and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Chuck was a great all around athlete and an All American, honorable mention for the University of Arkansas Razorbacks. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp during WWII. He retired from International Harvester Company where he was in management for 34 years. Chuck's faith was important to him and he was a long time member of Valley View United Methodist Church. Golf was his sport throughout his lifetime but his greatest passion was spending time with his family. Chuck is survived by his wife, Delores (Brown) Lively; and his 3 children: Chuck (Mary) Lively, of Omaha, NE, Candy Lively, of Racine, WI, and Cheri (Rob) Martin, of Ooltewah, TN; granddaughter, Danielle (John) Neal; and great grandchildren, Maddy and Theo Neal, all of Kearney, NE; sisters, Lorene Ballowe, of Fort Smith, AR, and Jean (Ralph) Todd, of Blytheville, AR, and many other relatives and friends. Please join us in a Celebration of Life that will be held on Monday, April 4th, from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon, at Valley View United Methodist Church, 8412 W. 95th Street, Overland Park, Kansas 66212. Private family services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Valley View United Methodist Church.
