Charles F. Rusnak Sr., 77, Overland Park, passed away Wednesday, August 08, 2007.
Mr. Rusnak was born July 5, 1930 in Kansas City, Kansas. Charles Sr. was known as a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and a dear friend to all. He enjoyed his grandchildren's sporting and school activities. He made everyone smile with his comics. He never complained about life, he lived it with love and care to all. Our loving father was an avid golfer, bowler, and former baseball player. He had a hole-in-one in golf, bowled a perfect game, and pitched a perfect game! He was co-creator of The Liondotte Baseball League in Kansas City, Kansas, and a mentor to many. During retirement years, he stayed active by always helping others.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and 1 sister. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 52 years, Joan; son Chuck Rusnak Jr., and wife Michelle; daughter, Cheryl Lynd and husband Eric; daughter Caryn Woltcamp and husband Robbie; 2 brothers, Richard Rusnak and Raymond Rusnak; 8 grandchilren, Brenden, Kyle, Becca, and Scott Kiekel, Natalie Barner, and Madison, Colton, and Chase Rusnak.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 11th at 11:00 a.m. at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, Kansas. Visitation will begin an hour prior to the service at the chapel. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 701 N. 94th, Kansas City, Kansas.
