Charles Saunders, Sr

Charles W. "Chuck" Saunders, Sr.
Charles W. "Chuck" Saunders, Sr., 90, of Overland Park, passed away on March 3, 2012. Chuck was born in Strool, South Dakota. Chuck leaves behind his three sons, Charles W. (Penny) Saunders, Jr., Michael J. (Susan) Saunders, and Phillip D. Saunders, two daughters, Patricia A. Saunders and Donna M. (Michael) Hutcheson, 12 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. Chuck is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Agnes Stubler Saunders, who passed away in 2008. He retired from Berbiglia Wine and Spirits after 50+ years of service. He was a resident at the Atriums for the last 3 years, where he was an active volunteer. He will be missed by many residents, especially Dru Splitstone. The family would like to thank Lucille Tutera and the Atriums' staff, as well as the caregivers from Continua Hospice.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 7th, 10-11 AM, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel. A graveside service will follow at 11:30am at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 8600 Quivera, Lenexa, KS. A memorial service will be held at a later date at The Atriums.
