Charles Southard, Louisburg, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at his home.
A celebration of his life will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 27, 2008 at D. W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Avenue with a gathering of family and friends held 1:00 ? 2:00 p.m. preceding the service. Charles was born February 18, 1941 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma to Gother and Eileen Southard. He has been married to Terry Southard since April 1995. Charles was an agent for Farmers Insurance Group for 40 years. He loved all outdoor activities and sports, was an avid OU fan, and at the age of 60 took up the hobby of Team Roping. Charles loved to travel and spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Terry; son, Jeff and his wife Trish of Des Moines, Iowa; daughter, Stephanie Martens of Lenexa, Kansas; step-son, Kevin Mendelsohn of Tacoma, Washington; sister, Carolyn and her husband C.A. Parmalee of Kansas City, Kansas; niece, Vicki Holmgren and her husband John of Kansas City, Kansas; nephew, Greg Parmalee and his wife Joan of Kansas City, Kansas; 3 grandchildren; and extended family in Girard, Kansas and Coweta, Oklahoma.
