Charles W. Swan, age 73, of Overland Park, KS passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2012. He was born on November 7, 1938 in Newark, NY, the son of Ruth (DeCann) and William Swan.
Charles, known to most by Chuck had an amazing career of 35 years as an executive manager in graphic arts. His hobbies included golf, photography, motorcycling, and travel. Chuck could often be found relaxing in his lazy boy chair watching classic western movies. He enjoyed being involved in his grandchildren's sports and activities. One of his accomplishments was learning to fly twin engine Cessna. He had a unique sense of humor and those that knew him have stories of their own.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann, of the home; daughters, Michelle Harold of Olathe, Charlene (Timothy) Kupersmith of Overland Park; son, Chris (Barbara) Swan of Olathe; 6 grandchildren, Jake Kupersmith, Samantha Harold, Lauren Kupersmith, Jordan Kupersmith, Carley Swan and Aliza Swan; sisters, Donelda and Cheryl and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Barry Swan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 9, 2012 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 8311 W. 93rd St, Overland Park, KS 66212. Visitation will be held at 10:00AM, with Rosary to follow. Burial will be held in the Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Lenexa, KS.
