Charles D. “Chuck” Ziegler of Overland Park, KS passed away peacefully on January 18th, 2019 at KU Medical Center. Chuck was born July 31st, 1941, son of Eunice and David Ziegler of Oelwein, Iowa.
January 27th, 1990, Chuck married his soulmate Janet and over the 38 years of courtship and marriage they found happiness and passion for life in every way imaginable. Golf, travelling, working side by side in the garden and entertaining with friends were some of the many things they enjoyed together.
Chuck’s other passions were finding, restoring, and selling cars (1970 El Camino). When not involved with cars, as Chuck called himself, “a frustrated want to be architect,” he would be found sketching out designs for renovations in their home. Chuck was also frequently found helping others in subtle yet generous ways. Assisting a neighbor, friend, or new acquaintance, Chuck would make himself available to help in any way he could. He will certainly be missed for his unique spirit and extreme generosity.
Chuck retired from First State Bank Mortgage as a Senior Residential Mortgage Lender in 2014. His career fulfilled his generous spirit in finding the right loan, so others could have the dream of owning a home. He was also honored to be a relocation vendor for many Kansas City based corporations due to his exceptional communication and knowledge of the mortgage business.
Survivors are his wife, Janet Ziegler of Overland Park, KS ; son, Chadd Ziegler of Vail, CO; sister, Carol Patten of Cedar Falls, Iowa; nieces Cyndi Patten of Marysville, WA, Jamie White of Bothell, WA, Jenni Butcher of St. Joseph, MO and Sister in Law, Debbie Harper LaDuke of Mission, KS.
