CHET JOSLIN
Chet Joslin, 87, Overland Park, Kansas passed into eternal life on February 21, 2011. Chet was born in Laurel, Nebraska, on January 26, 1924. He served in the Navy in World War II as a radio operator. Chet was married to Charlyne Wyant on September 26, 1946. He graduated from Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa in 1951. Chet spent 35 years as a real estate broker and land developer in Sioux City. The family then moved to Overland Park, Kansas in 1985 where he continued selling real estate. He earned the designation of Realtor Emeritus from the National Association of Realtors in 2005. Chet was a member of the First Baptist Church of Stilwell. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Charlyne; children, Laura (Terry) Johnson, Jerry (Lisa) Joslin, Susan Joslin, and Danny Joslin; 5 grandsons, Brad, Kirk, and Dane Johnson, Andy Jackson, and Eddie Gartland; 2 granddaughters, Sarah Forleo and Jordan Gartland; 5 great grandchildren; brother, Dwight Joslin; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 25, 2011, at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, Kansas. Interment will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, February 24, 2011, also at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Kansas City Hospice House. Chet was a proud, dedicated and loving family man who will be profoundly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Arrangements: D.W.
