Ching Lee

Ching Lee, 85, Overland Park, Kansas, passed away at home June 6, 2020, surrounded by family.  Visitation is Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at 1:00 pm with a family service following at 2:00 at Johnson County Funeral Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66210.

Ching Lee was born in Nanking Kiangsu, China, and fled to Macao in 1951 with her husband and infant daughter.  She later moved to Hong Kong where she raised her four children with her independent spirit.  In 1979, Ching Lee and her family immigrated to the US, where she became a citizen.

Not afraid of hard work, she took every challenge head on.  When her daughter Virginia opened her restaurants, Ching Lee served customers with a smile and genuine happiness that endeared her to everyone.  Devoted to her family, she took great joy in watching each grow and succeed.  In her spare time, she loved playing Mah-Jongg and cards with family, and she loved beating them in those games even more!  She lived her life with strength, a positive attitude and unconditional love for her family.

Ching Lee is survived by her children, Virginia Wu of Summit, New Jersey, Kar Y Woo, Ryan Young and Amanda Young, of Overland Park, KS, three grandchildren, Kelly Lees, Skylar Cale, Jade Cale and two great grandchildren, Toa and Kai Lees.  She was preceded in death by husbands Young Kou Liang and Woo Kok.  Her family will miss her dearly and we will treasure all the wonderful moments we had with her.
