Ching Lin Chen born on May 25, 1948 in Keelung, Taiwan passed away peacefully at the age of 74 on April 29, 2022 in Overland Park KS. He is remembered and loved by his wife Shu Tseng, daughters Tze and Szu, son Jeng and his 8 grandchildren Kylee, Calvin, David, Emily, Claire, Skyler, Stella and the youngest of all, Serena.
Growing up with 9 siblings in Keelung, a port city in northern Taiwan, Ching Lin honed his entrepreneurial skills with his father in the fishing industry. After graduating from Keelung High School, Ching Lin continued working to grow the successful family business. Ching Lin met his wife Shu Tseng in Yilan, got married and had 3 beautiful children in Taiwan. To provide better education opportunities for his family, Ching Lin put in place a plan to migrate to the United States and started working in the cruise industry to improve his English while learning world class culinary skills. Within a few short years, and with the support of his sister Julie, Ching Lin successfully migrated to the United States and settled in Overland Park KS, a place he and his family called home for over 50 years.
Ching Lin will always be remembered for his love of football, and as a hardworking, humble and a compassionate man. He makes people happy and put smiles on their faces with his wise humor. An amazing light in this world, he will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His family pays tribute to him by remembering his moral principles, and that is to be kind and caring to others. Don’t complicate life, always be humble and truthful to yourself. Our love for you will always be in our hearts.
