Chom Yon Kim passed peacefully on the morning of September 11, 2019 at 100 years old. She was born on November 28, 1918 in Daegu, South Korea. She married, Pong Cho Kim on May 25, 1936 and was widowed in 1966. She came to the United States in 1974. She worked at Electric Dynamics until she retired. She lived independently in an apartment and loved gardening. She was a member of the Korean Presbyterian Church. She was surrounded in love by a large family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, husband, daughter and 2 grandsons and 1 granddaughter.
She leaves a large family legacy of 7 daughters and one son, Myong Yon Kearns, Myong Hwa Lee, Chun Hee Monaghan, Pun Ok Keck, Chong Hae Kim, Kim Ok, Soon Kim & Chun Ok Shiotari. 14 grandchildren Kwang, Eric, Steve, Mary, Robert, Son, Don, Sanah, Judy, Elizabeth, Samuel, Shawn and one grandson, Jae and one granddaughter, Jung that remain in Korea. 20 great grandkids and 3 great great grandkids.
Chom will be remembered as a very strong matriarch of the family.
