CHRISTIAN ASHWORTH CLEVELAND
Christian lit up our hearts, our lives, and every room he entered for a far-too-brief 32 years. Born on September 1, 1975, he was the youngest of six Cleveland children. On June 25, 2008, the Cleveland family unexpectedly lost Christian.
Born with a love for the outdoors, Christian spent many hours fishing and looking for wildlife. During his life, he traveled throughout the world with his family. He was always the adventurous one, a powerful swimmer, a great hiker, any activity that had him outside in nature. With his wavy hair, blue eyes, and captivating smile, he made friends everywhere he travelled. Never afraid to pick up the snake, turtle, lizard, or other snarkwozzle, he reveled in teasing his sisters with his most recent catch. One of Christian?s greatest pleasures was driving his family?s boat, The Seven C?s, at the Lake of the Ozarks.
Christian was a charmer. Everyone who met him was captivated by his smile, and usually ended up laughing at his quick wit. He was a loving son and brother, always looking out for his family ? most especially his mother and three sisters.
Christian graduated from the Kansas City Academy and attended Avila University. Most recently, Christian was employed at Cleveland Chiropractic College as the Professional Development Associate.
The family who will love him forever includes his parents, Dr. Carl and Elizabeth Cleveland III, his sisters, Cindy, Ashley, and Alexandra, and his older brother Carl IV. He will also be missed by Michael, Maria and Dawn, as well as his nieces, Paige and Sophia, and nephews, Carl V, Maxwell and Anthony, plus countless friends and coworkers.
In lieu of flowers, Christian?s family requests donations be sent in Christian?s name to Atchison Valley Hope, a substance abuse treatment center, or to the Christian Ashworth Cleveland Memorial Scholarship fund at Cleveland Chiropractic College of Kansas City.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 29, 2008 from 2:00-3:00 pm at D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66210. Life Celebration will follow at 3:00 pm at the funeral home. Reception following at Cleveland Chiropractic College. As Christian would have wished, please wear casual attire to the Life Celebration as well as the reception.
