Clara Reaves

Elizabeth H. Reaves of Prairie Village, KS passed away Saturday, February 26, 2011 from natural causes.
She was born Clara Elizabeth Hale in Nashville, AR on April 15, 1916. She graduated from Hendrix College in Conway, AR and received a masters degree in music from Louisiana State University. She married Noel B. Reaves in February 1947 and they moved to Kansas City, MO soon thereafter. She and her family lived in Hutchinson, KS; Oklahoma City, OK; and Appleton, WI before returning to Prairie Village, KS in 1964. She taught private piano pupils in her home for many years while raising her children and later worked in the Johnson County Library system after settling in Prairie Village.
Her husband Noel died in 2007. She is survived by her sons, James A. Reaves and Bryan L. Reaves, both of Prairie Village, KS.
Services will be private, but there will be a visitation 1-3 p.m., Thursday, March 3 at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS. In lieu of flowers, donations to Kansas City Hospice in Elizabeth’s name would be appreciated.
