Clarence "Tom" Clowers, 77, Bonner Springs, passed away June 26, 2009.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens, 75th Street and K-7 Highway. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, Kan. Memorial contributions are suggested to the donor's charity of choice.
Tom was born August 31, 1931, in Randlett, Okla., to Epsy May (Elliott) Ledbetter and Lawrence Clowers. He grew up in Artesia, N.M., and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He married Dorothy Whiteley, December 18, 1954. Together they raised four children. He was a retired drywall worker.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; parents, Epsy and Lee Ledbetter, and stepbrother Leonard Ledbetter. Survivors include his children, Gayla Diane (Mick) Tracz, Cindy (Greg) Ubben, Donna Kay (Alan) Roach, and Craig Clowers; grandchildren Tanya, Brett, Todd, Jeremy, Chad, Jeff, Jonathan, Nicholas, and Kristin; great grandchildren Brycen and Lyla, and stepbrother W.H.
