Clarence B. Horton, Jr., M.D., 84, passed away November 11, 2009 at Village Shalom. He will have a Navy burial at sea at a later date.
Clarence was born January 11, 1925 in Buenas Aires, Argentina to Clarence and Ethel Horton. He lived there until around the age of 9 when his parents returned to the United States to live in Denver, Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister.
Clarence is survived by a nephew, Karl Grant of Rantoul, KS; and cousins, John Horton of Encinitas, CA and Nancy Kelchner of Melbourne, FL.
Clarence was inducted into the Army in April 1943. He was wounded in action in September 1944 and received the Purple Heart. He also received the European African Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon and the Bronze Star for participation in Northern France Campaign.
