Clarence (Lefty) Dunn, 86, passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at the Kansas City Hospice House. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 5th at D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, Kansas, 66210 from 6-8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 6th at the Roeland Park United Methodist Church, 5110 Cedar St., Roeland Park, Kansas, 66205 starting at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at the Johnson County Memorial Gardens.
He had worked at Procter and Gamble for 32 years upon taking disability retirement in 1981. He was a member of Local 9028 of the United Steelworkers Union and a veteran of the Army 149th Engineers Combat Battalion during World War II. Clarence was also a member of the Roeland Park United Methodist Church. He belonged to the Masonic Lodge 436 of Overland Park, Kansas and was a Past High Priest of Chapter 90 R. A. M. for the Ancient York Rite.
Survivors include his wife, Goldie Dunn, three daughters; Patricia LaRue, Ann Gero, Barbara Gordon and two sons; Ronald Dunn and John Dunn, one surviving sister Pat Joyia, twelve grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Roeland Park United Methodist Church.
