Clarence Lee Miller, 83, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away on Friday, March 8, 2014, with his loving wife by his side.
Lee was born Feb. 15, 1931 in Paola, Ks. He was the son of Mrytle Goff Miller and Clarence Levi Miller. He was a Korean War veteran spending his tour of duty at Ft. Riley, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Sheila, sister, Marilyn and son, Mark.
He attended high school in Bonner Springs, KS and graduated from high school in Sendai, Japan. He graduated from Pittsburgh State with a BS degree and received his master's degree at Kansas University. He did post graduate work at several universities.
He was sixth grade teacher in Shawnee Mission. He also was a principal at Trailwood, Nieman and Apache in the Shawnee Mission District. After retiring, he worked at the Johnson County Central Library as an information specialist for several years.
Lee was a very kind and generous man. He had a great sense of humor. He never met a stranger and loved everyone. He will be so missed by his many friends and family.
Lee leaves his wife, Brenda, son, Mike, Belton, MO, daughter, Tammy Glahn and husband, Paul, of Federal Way, WA Nikki Kelso and husband, Bryan of Irving, CA and Shelly Stephens and husband, Derek of Brisbane, Australia. He also leaves 7 grandchildren: Charlotte Kelso, Andrew Stephens, Samantha Stephens, Jennifer Stephens, Joey Glahn, Elyse Glahn and Christopher Glahn.
He is also survived by his step-children, Tammy Hambleton and husband, Carl Hayward of Overland Park and Paula Bolz and husband, Dan of Overland Park and his step-grandchild, Caden Bolz.
Lee was a member of the Church of the Resurrection in Leawood where he attended regularly before he got Sepsis in August and on-line while in the hospital. A memorial service will be held at the church chapel at 2:00 PM on Friday the 14th. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday the 13th from 6-8 PM at D.W. Newcomer's 112th and Metcalf. Inurnment will follow the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Congregational Care at The Church of the Resurrection, 137th and Roe, Leawood, KS.
