Mr. Clifford Harrison Smith Jr., 83, Overland Park, KS passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, June 20, 2013 at the Leawood United Methodist Church, 2915 West 95th Street, Leawood, KS 66206. The family will receive friends at 10:30 am before the service hour. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Leawood United Methodist Church. He was born September 28, 1929 in Arma, KS the son of Clifford Harrison Smith Sr. and Mary Lancellotti Smith. He graduated from the Arma High School in 1947. He attended the University of Kansas and later earned a Bachelor's and Master's Degree from Pittsburg State University. He was united in marriage to Emma Lou Vanterpotte on August 21, 1953. They shared over 49 years of marriage before the death of his wife on May 7, 2003.Clifford worked for Allied Signal over thirty years. After retirement he worked for the General Services Administration until January 2013. Surviors include two daughters, Kimberly Baker and husband Frederick and Marilyn Hayes and husband Steve; and many cousins.
