Clyde ?Hutch? R. White, age 89, Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Friday, August 31, 2007.
Mr. White was born September 19, 1917 to Lester and Emily (Loar) White in Kansas City, Kansas and was a lifelong area resident. He played professional baseball for two years before being called into the U.S. Army in 1941 and was discharged as a captain in 1946. Clyde served in the both the European and Southwest Pacific Theatres in the Field Artillery with the 365th Field Artillery in France, Germany, Czechoslovakia, and Japan. He was commended for the Bronze Star in Germany as an artillery observer. Hutch served 24 years in the U.S. Postal Service, was a member of the Old Timers Baseball Club and Armourdale Old Timers Club.
He was preceded in death by his Helen, his wife of 54 years and is survived by his daughter, Carol Pagacz and her husband Larry of Overland Park, Kansas.
A celebration of his life will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 5th at D. W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, Kansas. Burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will be held 5:00 ? 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 4th at the chapel. Contributions in Mr. White?s memory are suggested to Save The Children, P.O.
