Constance (Connie) Carter Embree, 48, Belton, Missouri passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2009 after a two year battle with cancer and Midwestern Regional Medical Center in Zion, Illinois. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at First Family Church, 7700 W. 143rd St., Overland Park, Kansas. Visitation will be the evening prior from 6-8 P.M., also at the church. Interment in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Jonathan R. Embree College Fund.
Connie was a CPA and worked for Sprint and Embark as an accounting manager, however she chose to leave the corporate world and focus her energies on her family. She invested her efforts in ministering the gospel of Jesus Christ to those around her.
The remaining week of her life was spent preparing her family and friends for her transition to heaven. She was a tremendous witness to those she encountered and the clinicians who helped her in her fight with cancer. She will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her father, Curtis Carter of Murray, KY.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Robert Embree; son, Jonathan Embree; mother, Christel Carter; uncle, Jesse Carter; grandmother, Fran Carter; two brothers, Charlie Carter and Chris Carter.
