Craig Edward Summy; son, father, brother and best friend to everyone, left us altogether too soon on June 10th, 2019. He is survived by his parents, Albert and Drucilla (Huber) Summy; his beautiful and exceptional daughters, Maya and Coco Summy; a sister, Sarah Summy, a brother; Matthew (Carmen and Grace) Summy, several Aunts, Uncles and cousins as well as countless friends.
Craig was a graduate of Immaculate High School in Danbury, CT where he excelled both athletically and academically. He attended culinary school before arriving in the Kansas City area where he made his home for more than 25 years. He was a devoted son, brother and an exceptionally devoted father; as “His Girls” (daughters Maya and Coco) were his greatest joy, as well as his greatest source of pride.
He was known as “Kansas City’s Rock N’ Roll Realtor”, as Craig was an accomplished musician who performed hundreds of shows around KC as well as mentoring and encouraging countless local musicians by hosting his weekly open mic night. He was heavily involved with several charity organizations, most notably The Children’s Miracle Network, for whom Craig performed many benefit shows over the years. Craig never met a stranger, and was one of the most kind and generous persons ever to bless this planet. He possessed a true gift to bring people together and share happiness and joy with anyone and everyone he ever came into contact with.
A private service will be held for family and a Celebration of Craig’s life will be held at a time to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Craig’s name to The Children’s Miracle Network.
