Dale Edward Grissom, 82, of Olathe, KS died on January 17, 2022. Dale was born on May 14, 1939 in Kansas City, Missouri to George C. and Opal L. (Smith) Grissom. Dale graduated from Central High School in Kansas City, MO in 1957 and entered the Army and was stationed in Italy from 1957 to 1960. He married Lyla Jean (Kentch) on September 8, 1962. Dale was a machinist by trade retiring from Marley Cooling Tower in Olathe after 26 years in 2002. Dale’s hobbies included NASCAR, the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs, Jigsaw puzzles, and he was considered a pool shark and enjoyed playing at Cedar Lake Village where he resided. Dale was a longtime member of First Christian Church Olathe where he served as a Deacon and volunteered in the Food Pantry. Dale is survived by his wife, Lyla and daughter Judy (Russell) Secrest. Grandchildren, Kirstyn (Travis) Holehan and Ryan (Briana) Secrest and Great Grandsons, Rhett Secrest and Jameson Holehan and many Nieces and Nephews. Family suggests memorials in Dale’s memory to the Food Pantry at First Christian Church Olathe, 200 E. Loula St., Olathe, KS 66061.
