Dale A. Leathers, age 78, Prairie Village, KS, passed away at home on Friday, March 2, 2007.
He was born in Kalamazoo, MI, graduated from Southeast High School in Kansas City and Baker University. Dale was an Eagle Scout and member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He also served his country in both the Marines and Navy. Dale was an executive in the textile industry, employed by the HD Lee Co., and Wrangler/Blue Bell, as well as co-owner of CAL Manufacturing in Vicksburg, MI. Dale is remembered by family and friends as an unconditionally loving and gracious man whose greatest love was his family. He blessed all who knew him with his kind, warm, generous and caring nature. He loved the water and especially enjoyed sharing his fishing passion with his grandsons in his later years. Known as "the rib master", Dale loved cooking for his family and friends.
Dale is survived by his wife of 54 years Barbara, and family: James Leathers, Susan & David Thompson, grandchildren Alec, Caleb, Luke & Joel, and Sally Leathers & Rick Polhamus, granddaughter Kate.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 6th at D.W. Newcomer's Sons at 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park.
