Dallas “Dal” B. Livengood, 76, Olathe, KS, passed away at St. Joseph Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri on February 1, 2016, in the presence of many loving family members and friends. Dal was born on March 11, 1939 on the family farm near Longford, Kansas. His family moved to Clay Center, Kansas in 1945, where he attended Elementary and High School. He continued his education at Kansas State University where he earned a degree in Business Administration in 1962. He was a member and President of Sigma Alpha Epsilon social fraternity, participated on the track team, and remained an avid sports fan of the university his entire life. After graduation, he served two years in the Army at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas.
Dal was always fascinated by numbers, and followed that love in his professional career in various financial positions with Katz Drug, Haskins and Sells, Harzfelds, Adlers and Jack Henry, before purchasing his own accounting firm, Diversified Management, in 1985. He invested a majority of his time in the “numbers” aspect of the business, but the special friendships he developed with his clients was what he cherished the most. Love for his family and friends was his first priority and they will all miss him greatly.
Dal was preceded in death by his father, George L. Livengood in 1982; his mother, Fern I. Livengood in January 2015; and his brother Dale Livengood in September 2015.
