Damon Jay Gjovig, age 47, Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2007 after many years of poor health.
Damon graduated from Shawnee Mission South High School in 1979 and attended Johnson County Community College and the University of Kansas. He is survived by his parents, Jon and Lois Gjovig of Overland Park; brother, Derek and his wife Lori, and their four children of Olathe; maternal grandmother, Esther Tolbert of Topeka; step-grandmother, Virginia Gjovig of Jefferson City, Missouri; and many relatives and friends.
A celebration of Damon?s life will be held Friday, May 9th at D. W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Avenue, Overland Park, Kansas. Cremation, private inurnment in Johnson County Memorial Gardens, Courtyard of Memories mausoleum. Contributions in Damon?s name are suggested to Animal Haven, 9800 West 67th Street, Merriam, Kansas 66203 or to the charity of your choice.
