DANIEL R. DICKINSON Lt. Col. U.S. Army (Ret.), 88, Overland Park, KS passed away December 14, 2013.
Visitation at 9:30 am followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Hillcrest Covenant Church, 8801 Nall Ave., Prairie Village, KS 66207. Interment will follow at Newcomer's Johnson County Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS.
Dan was a Veteran of WWII serving in Okinawa, & other islands in the Pacific from 1943 to 1946. His professional career included VP of Midwest Conveyor Co.; Heritage Exteriors; & other consulting jobs as a Civil Engineer. In his senior years he was a Master Gardener & lectured on Gardening for Butterflies. He was a member & Deacon of Hillcrest Covenant Church where he excelled at greeting & hugging for many years. He was an avid bird hunter & lifetime member of MO Fox Trotting Horse Breed Assoc.
Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Bonnie; Children: Jan George, Debbie Dickinson Coppola, Mona Gutowski (Pete), Dan Dickinson (Terry), Mary Dickinson Cashin (Brian); Sister, Betty Dewey; Sister-in-law, Donnie Krutsinger; 12 Grandchildren; 8 Great-grandchildren; Nieces & Nephews.
We celebrate a life well lived; a man well loved.
