Darleen Rose (Worster) Jacobs 82, Overland Park, Kan., died Tuesday (9/9/08).
Born in Lincoln, January 29, 1926 to John J. and Marie E. Worster (Hensch). Married Jake Jacobs August 21, 1942. Lincoln resident until 2001 when she moved to Overland Park, Kan. Darleen was owner of Jacobs' House of Gifts, and co-owner with husband of Jacobs' Construction Company. She was a member of the American Legion Post Three Auxiliary, Welfare Society, American Forward, and First German Congregational Church. Darleen and Jake are life members of the USS Cowell DD547 Association. Her hobbies included painted porcelain and ceramics, needlework, and BINGO!
Preceded in death by parents; sister, Rose Marie Worster; and husband, Jake. Survivors: daughter, Rosemarie Magee and husband, Jake, Overland Park, Kan.; son, John David Jacobs and wife, Glena, Lincoln; daughter, Linda Lee Jacobs, Overland Park, Kan.; four grandchildren, Michael Jacob Schwabauer and wife, Krystal, Roeland Park, Kan.; Douglas Henry Schwabauer and wife, Kelly, Overland Park, Kan.; John Jacob Jacobs and wife, Traci; and Michelle Marie Jacobs Williams and husband, Aaron, all of Lincoln; great grandchildren: Grace Ann and Abigail Francine Schwabauer, Roeland Park, Kan.; Molly Jean and Elizabeth Rose Schwabauer, Overland Park, Kan.; Max and Mollie Jacobs and Aaron Williams, all of Lincoln. Extended family members, Janice and John Hunt; Frank and Carol Buehler, California; and Geraldine and Sheila Jacobs; and Alan Hergenrader, Lincoln; Susan Hastings Moreau, McCook.
Graveside service will be at Wyuka Cemetery, 3600 "O" St. Meet at Wyuka Funeral Home by 2:45 p.m. for procession to gravesite at 3 p.m. Memorials to the family.
