David R. Boote, 71, Overland Park, passed away June 17, 2019 in Overland Park. David was born in Pittston, Pennsylvania to Roland Boote and Helen (Windle) Boote. The family moved to Baxter Springs, Kansas where David graduated high school in 1966. He worked hard to put himself through college and graduated from Pittsburg State University in 1970 with a Business Management Degree. He then joined the National Guard for 7 years. David was the owner of Waldo Antiques and Flea Market for 45 years. David enjoyed buying and selling antiques and visiting with all the people that came into his store over the years. Many friendships were made during that time. He loved to travel and went to Europe 7 times, the Virgin Islands and on a Disney Cruise. David was an animal lover, especially dogs. He also was good at gardening and landscaping his yard over the years.
David was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his partner of 19 years, Montie Hefner; his sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Mark Johnson; niece, Marla Johnson and Scott Rangel; and a nephew, Randy Johnson; wife, Mindy Johnson; and a great nephew, Brayden; and a great niece Grace. Memorial contributions in memory of David may be given to: Wayside Waifs, 3901 Martha Truman Road, Kansas City, MO 64137.
