David Finlay

David L. Finlay, age 83, of Mission, KS passed away on February 29, 2020. A Celebration of his Life will be held at the d.41 Event Space at Dalton’s Flowers, 8135 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, KS 66204. Private inurnment at  in Johnson County Memorial Gardens, Overland Park, KS.

David was born on September 8, 1936 in Kansas City, MO to Malcom and Mabel “Ramona” Finlay. He graduated from Redemptorist High School. He served in the U.S. Navy. David loved bowling and was a member of the USBC for 54 years. He loved watching the Royals and the KC Chiefs, and he was an avid collector of many things. David retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 2000, after 26 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his mother; father and a sister, Gloria Krom.

David is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Finlay; children, David Finlay (Pat Carl), Stephanie Roach (Robert), Keith Finlay (Nanetta), Chris Finlay, Cynthia Finlay (Bill Cooper), Paul Finlay (Laura), Kim Walkling (Chuck), Renee Addington-Carey (Tim Carey) and Rhonda Addington; 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters, Mary Lou Sandy and Virginia Nicholson, and a brother, Malcom "Bud" Finlay.
