David Moore III, age 55, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2011, in Overland Park Kansas. A Celebration of Life for Dave will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at the Church of the Resurrection, located at 13720 Roe Ave, Leawood, KS. Visitation will be held one hour prior in the narthex of the Wesley Chapel at the church.
Dave was born March 2, 1956 in Memphis, TN to Martha (Futrell) and David Moore, Jr. He grew up in Eastern Arkansas close to a loving extended family. After graduating from high school in Luther, OK, he served a tour of duty in the US Air Force. Upon returning to Oklahoma, he completed his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees while working full-time at the OKC Western Electric Manufacturing Facility and went on to a distinguished 20 year career at AT&T/Lucent Technologies in the areas Quality Control and Telecommunication Product Sales.
Dave was an avid sports fan with a love for baseball, football, golf and fishing. He also enjoyed lively conversation and grilling steaks for family and friends. He was a loving father, husband and son with intense devotion to his family, friends and country. He will be deeply missed.
Dave is survived by his wife Connie, sons David and Chris, parents Sam and Martha Gillaspy, sisters, Elizabeth Moore, Rita Thiel, and Cynthia Ross, and step-mother Joy Moore. He was preceded in death by his father David Moore Jr.
