David William Stobie died on March 26, 2016 after the return of and short battle with prostate cancer.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Victoria "Tory" Ann Tether, and his parents, Gordon Kellie Stobie and Margaret Merle Skirving.
He is survived by 5 children, Thomas (Barbara), Keith Adabie (Judy), Peter (Lisa), Jennifer Schumacher (Brian) and Paula Bolduc (Joseph) and 7 grandchildren. He is also survived by two of his sisters, Margaret and Christine. David was born January 19, 1933 in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.
He immigrated to the United States in September 1958 and became a naturalized US citizen on May 5th, 1995. He started his career as an actuary, and spent the majority of his career as a network and systems planner at Sprint. After his retirement, he volunteered thousands of hours at St. Joseph Medical Center. For the last five years, he has been an active part of the Santa Marta community. He was known for his sharp intelligence and generous heart.
A private burial service will be held on Friday, April 1 at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at the Santa Marta Chapel at a later date.
