Delores Gamble, age 80, of Overland Park, passed away quietly on September 9, 2019.
Delores was born April 15, 1939, in Franklin, Louisiana to Gladys Haisley and Kamorl Lee. She was raised in Franklin, LA and attended Dillard University in New Orleans, LA. She earned her nursing degree from UMKC School of Nursing in 1962, and met her future husband, John, while he was a laboratory technician and she was an obstetrical nurse practicing at Conley hospital in Kansas City. Delores married John Gamble on Nov. 11th of 1961, in Kansas City, MO.
When she came into this world, we had no idea the kind of impact she would leave on those that she touched. She was brutally honest and did not mince words. With her tenacious, fiery ways, there was never a dull moment. She was the person we always went to for advice, comfort, or just to get a better outlook on life. She could bring calm and comfort during an emergency. One could always fine comfort, empathy, and understanding when talking to her.
Delores was instantly loved and adored by all who knew her. Dee was a fantastic cook and relished spending time with family and friends. Delores will be missed dearly, loved always, and never forgotten by those who hold her dear to their hearts. Her connection to her faith, family, and friends were the most important thing to her. As we celebrate her life, we will remember how lucky we are to have her as a part of our lives and the huge impact she made on all of us.
Survivors include her three children: John, Brian, and Robert; six grandchildren, Brandon, Jessica, Jordan, Jonelle, Mia, and Jalen; sister Gladys Richardson and brother-in-law Lee Richardson. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
