Delta Mae Allen passed away on Good Friday, April 14, 2017. She was born in Post, Texas on October 5, 1936. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl & Cleo Rogers. She is survived by her husband, J. Harold Allen; sister, Wanda Burton; brother, Kenneth (Wanda) Rogers; daughter, Debbie (Darryl) Bennett; son, Roger (Joy) Allen, and grandchildren, Jessica and Kaleigh Bennett, and Emma and Camdanh Allen.
Delta was a stay at home mother, then worked at Nazarene Theological Seminary, the International Headquarters of Church of the Nazarene and eventually MidAmerica Nazarene University, from which she retired as an assistant registrar. She also worked as a substitute school teacher, private piano teacher and real estate agent.
Delta loved music, laughter, church, her Sunday School class, her family, her beloved husband and most of all, her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was classy, energetic, spunky and encouraging. She loved, advised, encouraged, mentored, challenged and believed in her family and friends. Her life impacted too many lives to count and her passing leaves a unique void in our hearts.
She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. We will miss Delta every day, but find hope in knowing she rests safely and peacefully in the arms of her loving Lord. We look forward to seeing her again when we meet in eternity in the presence of God.
Visitation will be at 5:00 pm on Monday, April 17th, immediately followed by the funeral. The service will be held at the Kansas City First Church of the Nazarene, 11811 State Line Road, Kansas City, Missouri, 64114.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kansas City Hospice House or the Worship Arts Ministries of Kansas City First Church of the Nazarene.
