Denny Wheat, 61, Overland Park, KS, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2007.
Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 25th at Atonement Lutheran Church, 9948 Metcalf, Overland Park, Kansas. Gathering of family and friends will be 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, April 24th at D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, Kansas. Burial in Johnson County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF), 383 Main Avenue, 5th Floor, Norwalk, CT 06851.
Denny was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to Jack and Olive Silverman. She graduated from Withrow High School and the University of Cincinnati. She received her Master?s Degree in Education from Baker University, in Baldwin, Kansas. She was a second grade teacher at Ray Marsh Elementary School in Shawnee for 15 years. She had an overwhelming love for children and teaching. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, and will be dearly missed by all that knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Bob Wheat; parents, Jack and Olive Silverman of Cincinnati; son, Rob Wheat and wife Jenny of Overland Park; son, Todd Wheat and wife Ruth of Olathe; sister, Sherry Burrell and husband Don of Cincinnati; and one granddaughter Violet Wheat of Overland Park.
