Mr. Dennis Murphy

Dennis John Murphy, 65, Olathe, Kansas peacefully passed away at his home with his loving family by his side on July 16, 2013. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, July 20, 2013 at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS. A visitation will begin an hour prior to service time at 2:00 PM, also at the chapel. Interment will follow at 12:30 PM, Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS. Memorial Contributions are suggested to Kitty Hawk Museum Fund, 2712 280th St., Winthrop, IA 50682.
Dennis was born September 3, 1947 in Blue Earth, MN and was a 1966 graduate of Fairmont High School in Fairmont, MN. Following high school, he joined the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Kitty Hawk during the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in passing by his parents, Harold and Shirley Murphy; and two infant brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Linda of the home; daughter, Keely M. Murphy of Duvall, WA; brother, Dave Murphy of WY; sister, Diane (Gary) Johnson of MN; brother, Darin Murphy of MN; 3 brothers-in-law and their spouses; 2 sisters-in-law and their spouses; and numerous nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and nephews.
