DOC J. McCRACKEN
Doc J. McCracken went to be with the Lord, Friday, June 26, 2010, where he will be met by his son Mitch who passed away in 1974. Doc was born August 2, 1930 the son of George and Vera McCracken of Trenton, MO, where he was raised with 4 brothers and 6 sisters. He moved to Kansas at a young age where he later married Olive Pope and raised his family. In 1978, Doc moved to Tonganoxie, and later resided in Bashor, KS. Dad loved his family and relished times with his 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He served his country in the Army from 1952-1954, after his honorable discharge he went to work at Union Machine and Tool. Upon his retirement, he left the company a Vice President. Doc was a member of West Haven Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and a Greeter which he loved very much. He also served on the Pastor Church Committee. Dad was an avid golfer and was a Marshall at Painted Hills for 6 years. Doc is survived by his wife of 60 years, Olive McCracken; two sons, Gary (Debbie) McCracken, of Tonganoxie, KS, and Mike (Patty) McCracken, of Bashor, KS, and 1 daughter, Stacy McCracken Simmons, of Bashor, KS. He will be greatly missed, but has left lasting memories in the hearts of his family. Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, KS 66210. Graveside to follow at Shawnee Mission Memory Gardens.
