Donald Hall

Donald G. Hall, 82, formerly of Overland Park, Died July 7, 2017 in Topeka.

He was born April 13, 1935 in Lyons, KS to Claude McKinley Hall and Evelyn Violetta Burkhalter Hall. He had a brother Dale Hall of Washington State.

He graduated from Rifle High School in Colorado and he received a degree in accounting from The University of Colorado in 1972.

He was drafted to serve in the Army from 1958 to 1960. He was stationed in Korea.

He had a first marriage to his high school sweetheart Caroline. He had a second marriage to Beverly Sue Miller on July 28, 1963. He was her caregiver for 4 years. She preceded him in death in 1995. He also was a caregiver to his mother-in-law for 10 years until her death in 2004.

He worked at Jeppesen in Colorado as a cartographer, Ball Brothers in Colorado and Denver University as an accountant. He also worked at Rockhurst College in Missouri as an administrator/accountant, KU Medical in the Allied Heath Department with the Dean in an accounting and administrative roll. He was instrumental in bringing the first computers to the department and was a programmer for their specific needs.

After retirement, he helped design and make instrument control panels used at Wolf Creek Nuclear Plant and other facilities. He was interested in and become a student of the Messianic Jewish Faith.

He was a gentle soul, kind and witty. He had a beautiful deep speaking and singing voice and always a giving smile. He was a wonderful grandpa to all his grandkids, valuing each one and always spoke of them with such pride and wonder at their amazing minds and abilities. He was not interested in material things. He was a very generous with what he had. He lived a very simple life saying all he needed was a place in the corner with a bed and a computer.

Survivors include children, Susan Hall and Donna (Mitch) Worthington. Seven grandchildren, Eric Potter, Joel Potter, Guin Ragan, Avery Ragan, Zach Ragan, Andrew Davis-Worthington and Samantha Worthington.

A private graveside service will be held for family members at Johnson County Memorial Gardens. Memorial Contributions can be made to Kelly House, 1800 SW Fairmont Rd., Topeka, KS 66604.
