Doris A. Rickert, 89, Kansas City, MO, passed away Monday, August 20, 2007.

Doris was born on November 8, 1917 in Yale, Oklahoma. She graduated from Seminole High School in Oklahoma. She was a member of the Worthy Matron of Easter Stars, President of the Council of the Blind Lake Stockon, and a lifetime member of DAV, VFW, and AmVet. Doris was also awarded the Gold Star Mother by Liberty Memorial Veterans.

She was preceded in death by her first husband; Lloyd Edward Stanton and second husband; John William Rickert, children; Joyce Frans, Phyllis Mae Carty, and Richard Eugene Stanton; brothers, Hershall Kleckner and Homer Ferrell Kleckner; and sister, Cleta Harbor. Left to cherish Doris' memories are her children; Lloyd Edward Stanton, Patricia Ann Pratt, Mary Ellen Fox, Carol Jean Guenther, Janice Irene Stanton, and Sheryl Lynn Horgan; step-daughter, Gloria West; 25 grandchildren; 44 greatgrandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 25th at D.W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS. Visitation will be the evening prior from 6-8 p.m. at the chapel. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to The Council of the Blind, Lake Stockton or Disabled American Veterans.
