Dorothy Downing Blank passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2008 at the Kansas City Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, June 3, 2008 at the D. W. Newcomer's Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66210. Visitation will be held an hour prior at the chapel.
Dorothy was born March 10, 1918 in Kingsville, MO the daughter of Carrie Colvin Downing and Timothy Joseph Downing. She graduated from the Strasburg, MO High School in 1936 and later attended the Kansas City Business College. Five years later on September 10, 1941 she married Randall Blank in Harrisonville, MO. Their marriage of 67 years ended with the death of Randall on October 6, 2007. Throughout her married life she was a homemaker with a strong interest in fine arts especially painting in which she excelled.
