Dorothy Burlingame

Dorothy Madge Burlingame (nee Cook) 90, born January 8, 1926, in New Cambria, Mo.; died February 9, 2016, at Good Samaritan in Olathe, Kansas.
She enjoyed a successful career as an accounting professional for financial institutions in Kansas City and Overland Park. She and Jack were longtime residents of Kansas City, Mo., Overland Park, and Stanley, Kans., before moving to Olathe, Kans., in 2002. She was a friend to many throughout her life.
Madge was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Jack D. Burlingame; her parents, Roy and Isabel Cook; her brother, Harold “Hal” Cook and sister-in-law, Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Cook (nee Ronan).
Survivors include three nieces and a nephew; Cathy Cook Pawlitz and Ann (Michael) Edwards (nee Cook), of St. Louis, Mo.; Mary Margaret (Patrick) Irwin of Arlington, Tex.; and John (Susan) Cook of Bethesda, Md.; seven great nieces, four great nephews and a great-great nephew and niece.
A visitation will be held on Thurs, Feb. 11, from 12-1pm, with a service following at 1pm, all at Johnson County Funeral Chapel and Memorial Gardens, 11200 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, Kansas 66210.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
