Dorothy Grove Lamberton

Dorothy Virginia Grove Lamberton, age 82, of Overland Park, Kansas and Port Aransas, Texas, passed away Monday, December 11, 2006 at Hospice House of Kansas City from lung cancer.
Dorothy graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Staunton,
Virginia, and received her BA from The College of William Mary where she was a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. She married Robert W. Lamberton in 1946 and the couple lived in Boston, Lawrence KS, St. Louis, Kansas City, KS, Prairie Village, Overland Park, and Port Aransas, TX. She was past president of the Wives Auxiliary of the Missouri Society of Professional Engineers, active in local PTA?s and the Village Church. She was an avid Bridge player, a gracious hostess, and tolerated canoeing and camping for the benefit of the family. She enjoyed travel, going to Europe, Japan, Central America, and just this summer, China. She did an excellent job of raising her 4 children, who will miss her very much.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Robert W. Lamberton, in 2001; her parents, and her brothers and sister. Survivors include her son William G. Lamberton of Ithaca, New York, son John R. Lamberton of Kansas City, Kansas, son David B. Lamberton of Mclean, Virginia, and daughter Rebecca Lamberton Mann of Arlington, Virginia;
nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
