Dorothy LaRue

Dorothy Ann LaRue passed away peacefully on May 8, 2018 in her home in the Villas of Leawood, in Leawood, Kansas. Her parents were Harvey and Ollie LaRue. A memorial service will be held at 4 PM, Friday, May 11 in the Clubhouse at the Villas of Leawood, 2021 W 139th St, Leawood, KS 66224. Instead of making any financial contributions, please try to go at least one day without eating any beef or pork. Dorothy was born on June 5, 1945, while the Allies were landing on the beaches in Normandy (there is a six-hour time difference between France and the Central Time Zone in the USA). She was a loving wife to her husband, Robert E. Smith. She was also a loving stepmother to Robert’s son and daughter in law, as well as three brilliant grandchildren. She was also an avid Bridge player with our many wonderful friends. She was a retired elementary school teacher, after teaching in the Kansas City School system. She is missed very much by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband.
