Dorothy J. Mackay, 84, of Overland Park, KS passed away Sunday, November 4, 2007 at her home.
Visitation will be held 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2007 at D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel, 11200 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66210. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 9, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at D.W. Newcomer?s Sons Johnson County Chapel. Burial to follow.
Dorothy was born on June 24, 1923 in Mildred, Kansas to Dr. David and Mary Bibens. She attended Center High School and graduated from William Jewell College. Dorothy taught at Lewis Ruhl Grade School. Dorothy owned Bibens Pet Supply from 1956-1960. Dorothy also owned Bibens Hone and Garden Shop in Overland Park, KS from 1966-1983. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Mackay; parents, David H. Bibens and Mary Prentice Bibens; brothers, David Bibens and Robert F. Bibens.
Dorothy is survived by her children and their spouses, Peggy and John Stroud and Rick and Dana Mackay. She is also survived by grandchildren, J. Christopher Stroud, Jaymie A. Stroud, Kyle D. Mackay and Jenna N. Mackay; sister, Beth Lundgren as well as nieces and nephews.
